Mary A. Obias
Senior Clinical Intern
My name is Mary Obias, I'm a clinical mental health counseling graduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where I’m also earning a certificate in Trauma-Informed Care. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. My academic and professional experiences have shaped a person-centered, compassionate approach to counseling that honors each client’s story and strengths. I have experience supporting both adolescents and adults in a range of settings, including hospitals, schools, and community-based programs. My work often integrates evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), always grounded in empathy and cultural sensitivity. I’m especially passionate about helping clients develop emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, or simply seeking greater self-understanding, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where healing and growth can happen!
