Amelia Vazquez, ICGC-I

Hello! My name is Amelia and I'm currently a Master's candidate for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While I'm still establishing my preferred modalities and orientations to utilize in helping my future clients to work towards being a new version of themselves, I have some prior experience with CBT, DBT, ABA and Motivational Interviewing types of therapies in environments ranging from inpatient units in a hospital to in-home/generalized public milieus.

I've since had the pleasure to work with a multitude of individuals across several definitions of "walks of life” which helps keeps concepts like cultural sensitivity at a personal focal point. Currently, I'm aspiring to expand my more novice skill set with those that have or are associated with terminal diagnoses, trauma and/or families and couples (just to name a few). As I build a client base, I seek to help challenge the range of stigmas surrounding mental health and normalize asking for help.
