Courtney Johnson
Emerging Clinician Mount Mary
For as long as she can remember, Courtney has been someone that family and friends naturally turn to for support, guidance, and a listening ear. Serving as a source of encouragement and understanding for others has always been meaningful to her and ultimately inspired her decision to pursue a career in counseling.
As a graduate counseling student preparing for internship, Courtney is excited for the opportunity to support individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and personal growth. She strives to create a welcoming, compassionate, and supportive environment where clients feel safe sharing their experiences and feel heard without judgment.
Through her graduate studies, Courtney has been introduced to a variety of counseling theories and approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). As she continues developing her clinical skills, she looks forward to integrating these evidence-based approaches while helping clients recognize their strengths and work toward meaningful goals.
Courtney’s goal is not only to make a positive impact but also to help facilitate meaningful and lasting change in the lives of those she serves. She believes every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and transformation when provided with the right support, guidance, and encouragement.
