Heather Novotny
Emerging Clinician Mount Mary
Heather Novotny is a Clinical Counseling Intern at NeuroWave Therapy Group and a graduate student in the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mount Mary University, with an expected graduation in May 2027.
Heather takes a warm, humanistic approach to therapy, working collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, build insight, and foster self-acceptance. Integrating elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy, she guides clients in developing greater psychological flexibility, connecting with their values, and recognizing their strengths.
Heather’s areas of clinical interest include grief and loss, anxiety and depression, caregiving, conflict, life transitions, aging, burnout, and personal growth. She is also passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and addressing women’s issues in a compassionate, affirming space. Heather works with individuals and couples across the lifespan.
She holds an M.S. in International Studies from DePaul University and a B.S. in Behavioral Science & Law from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
